Tiny_Sparks_LOGO_FA2-36e36c0c7edabffd15033ccf731fd875

Tiny Sparks WA is a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers with the mission to improve the health and well being of Western Australian families enduring high-risk pregnancy, infants requiring neonatal unit care and associated childhood impacts.

Every year many families experience the highs and lows of sick full term babies, premature infants, loss and the ongoing developmental and medical needs of a child who begins their life in the neonatal unit.

The volunteers at Tiny Sparks WA work tirelessly traise awareness and provide support and guidance. We would like to get involved and support this charity by sewing developmental hearts. These hearts are provided to families with infants who have been admitted into the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The fabric heart is worn against the mother’s skin to absorb her scent. The heart is then placed with the baby so the mother is always with her child.

RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITY

snuggle-quilts

Each year we end our Charity Sewalong with Ronald McDonald House Charity. This is the first charity project we ever ran that inspired so many of you to get involved and donate to a worthy cause.

Every year thousands of children are struck down by very serious long term illness or injury and endure weeks, and in some cases, months of hospitalisation. Snuggle Quilts can become a very special attachment for a child and they will be able to take it with them when hopefully the time comes for them to leave hospital and go home.

“Hi Bronwyn, Very rarely in my life have I been lost for words but yesterday when your gift arrived I was speechless! I must admit that I feel a little guilty at the moment as I am lucky enough to still be feeling well right now, but I am also very grateful. Please pass on my thanks to the lovely ladies that work so hard making these quilts, scarves and beanies for people suffering with cancer.”
