Sew a car organiser

One of the best ways to organise your car if you’re travelling with kids, going on holidays or simply want some extra storage space is to stitch up a car seat organiser. There are plenty of sewing patterns online, on Crafty or sold by commercial pattern companies such as Butterick.

Pattern: Butterick 6228 Car Organiser
Material: Cotton and iron-on interfacing
Skill Level: Beginner

A great way to personalise any project is to embroider it with a design that matches the material and project theme. This particular design “All you need is the beach and a book” was taken from Urban Threads and suits our Hawaiian tropical print.

If you’re making them for children, then why not decorate it with their favourite embroidered character. All Brother sewing and embroidery machines that are marked with a D, such as the NV180D, NQ3500D, NS2750D, XV8500D or the embroidery-only machine PE830DL all come built in with a set amount of Disney embroidery designs!

We have created this project using the Brother NV180 Sewing and Embroidery machine, which is one of the entry level embroidery machines, perfect for designs that fit within a 10cm x 10cm area.

Is this the type of sewing project that will help organise your car journeys? We highly recommend getting creative and giving it a try!
